Gulagbi is entering an exciting new chapter, and we’re inviting passionate, skilled volunteers to join our growing team.

As a not-for-profit organisation based in Far North Queensland, Gulagbi – Collaborative Sustainable Developments Ltd is dedicated to supporting mothers, babies, and families through holistic, culturally-appropriate pregnancy and postpartum care — and empowering communities both locally and globally through sustainable development projects.

To continue this work and expand our reach, we’re seeking volunteers with experience, initiative, and heart to take on key support roles within our organisation.

Volunteer Opportunities

1. Fundraising Coordinator

Help us grow Gulagbi’s impact by developing and coordinating fundraising activities that inspire our community to give.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage fundraising campaigns and community events

  • Develop partnerships with local businesses, sponsors, and supporters

  • Oversee online fundraising drives and donation campaigns

  • Work closely with the Board to set and meet fundraising goals

  • Promote ethical and transparent fundraising practices

Ideal candidate:
Someone with prior experience in fundraising or event coordination, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping mothers, babies, and families thrive.

2. Grant Writers

Assist Gulagbi in securing essential funding to support our local and international programs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Research and identify relevant grants and funding opportunities

  • Prepare compelling, accurate grant proposals and reports

  • Collaborate with team members to gather data and project information

  • Maintain a grants calendar and track application progress

Ideal candidate:
An experienced grants writer with attention to detail and a genuine commitment to community wellbeing and social justice.

3. Social Media Manager

Amplify Gulagbi’s message by helping us connect with our community online.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow Gulagbi’s presence on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn

  • Create engaging posts, stories, and campaigns that align with our mission

  • Coordinate with the team to share updates on projects, events, and fundraising drives

  • Monitor engagement and insights to help shape communication strategies

Ideal candidate:
A creative, organised communicator who understands social media strategy and storytelling — and is passionate about holistic care, advocacy, and making a difference.
